FBH Recognizes Transformative Partnership with Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center
(Peoria, Illinois) — Freedom Behavioral Health, Inc. (FBH) is excited to recognize its five-year partnership with Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center (PCJDC), a collaboration that has supported care delivery and operational alignment within the facility. Over the course of this relationship, both organizations have worked together to achieve positive outcomes for youth and staff.
As the need for increased mental health awareness in detention settings continues to grow, FBH has partnered with PCJDC to expand programming focused on education and response. This includes Mental Health First Aid training and enhanced service coverage designed to support both residents and staff, contributing to a more informed care environment.
“Youth in our care represent potential, not just risk. Our responsibility is to create an environment where they feel seen, supported, and capable of something more,” said Dr. Melissa Caldwell, Chief Behavioral Health Officer at FBH. “Through our partnership with the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center, we have focused on developing services that not only address behavioral health needs, but also affirm the value and potential of every young person.”
FBH delivers a range of services at PCJDC, including individual counseling, diagnostic behavioral health assessments, behavioral management support, and adaptive functioning monitoring. In addition, FBH supports staff through its Critical Incident Employee Rapid Response (CIERR) initiative, offering timely resources to help teams navigate challenging situations.
FBH values its partnership with PCJDC and looks forward to continuing this collaboration. Together, both organizations remain focused on strengthening care, supporting staff, and making a meaningful impact within the facility and the broader community.
