FBH Honors Registered Nurse with Eagle Award for Heroic Action and Exceptional Patient Care

(Hastings, Minnesota) – In February 2026, Freedom Behavioral Health, Inc. (FBH) honored Registered Nurse Amy Fedderly with its Eagle Award for her heroic actions in the area of professional wellness and behavioral health.

In December 2025, a patient was booked into the county jail. The following morning, when concerns were raised about the patient’s condition, Nurse Fedderly responded without delay and partnered closely with the site’s Qualified Mental Health Professional. Relying on her clinical expertise, she helped guide the decision to transfer the patient to a local hospital. While there, physicians determined the patient was experiencing a brain bleed. Thanks to Nurse Fedderly’s swift action, strong collaboration, and dedication to patient care, the patient received timely treatment, and a potentially fatal outcome was prevented.

The Eagle Award is FBH’s most prestigious award and one of the highest honors a behavioral health professional (mental health, substance recovery) or other first responder (medical professional, law enforcement - field and facility, fire and rescue, dispatch, EMS) can receive.

Nurse Fedderly performed an exceptional act under emergency conditions, and the action directly resulted in sustaining a human life. Nurse Fedderly’s swift response and commitment to patient care exemplify the spirit of the Eagle Award and the highest standards of service in behavioral health. Nurse Fedderly received this award during a presentation in February 2026.
