Eagle Award Presented – Melanie Stroda


Freedom Behavioral Health, Inc. (FBH) has presented Melanie Stroda its Eagle Award for heroic actions in the area of professional wellness and behavioral health.


According to Mental Health America, “Nearly 1 in 5 American adults will have a diagnosable mental health condition in any given year.” FBH is proud to promote the heroic actions and efforts of the individuals working in this important field. Melanie Stroda performed an exceptional act under emergency conditions, and the action rendered directly resulted in sustaining a human life.


Melanie received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Kansas and is certified by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care as a correctional health professional. Melanie currently serves as the clinical education director at Advanced Correctional Healthcare, Inc. and associate professor of nursing and simulation coordinator at the University of St. Mary.

The Eagle Award is FBH’s most prestigious award and one of the highest honors a behavioral health professional/partner can be given. Melanie received this award during a presentation in June 2023.
